My son had surgery today to repair the same abscess he had back in August. This time, it wasn't considered emergent, so we had a few days to prepare. I took today off, and we spent most of the day in the hospital. Mr. R is on a run to Indianapolis, and my neighbor Kim picked the kids up from school for me.

Since he's 15, he was one of the last patients. Babies and littles come first, and I am down with that. Plus it gave us time to get lost. How in the world can I be an employee and still get lost? All the road closures at the campus killed me! |

I'm always willing to look like a moron to make my kid smile. |

Post-op. Checking for text messages from all of his friends. |

Anesthesia ran out, and he's still feeling good. |

Abscess closed up again, repaired, no cancer, no infection. We're all good here. I'm praying that this is the final chapter in the craziness that has been December and January. I need a breather!
