"It Was My Pleasure."

I woke up this morning to see the funniest text from my husband:  "Happy Mother's Day.  It was my pleasure to turn you into a mother."  Ahhhh, comedian husband.  What would I do without him?

So, Missy colored my hair, and I've not been able to wash it, so it didn't look great today.  But I can wash it tonight and have awesome hair again.

I look angry, but I'm actually just squinting.

Happy Mother's Day to all my readers!

Outfit details:  Torrid shrug, size 2 and really, really hot.  I got it on eBay for probably $10 at least three years ago.  I hardly ever wear it just because it's open, no fastener on it, which I find odd.  Do not wear in May again unless moving to Idaho or Alaska!  Merona dress, size 2, a bit big on me.  Also bought on eBay, probably two years ago, and I am certain I spent under $15 for it.  Cami, JCPenney, $10, bought in 2012.  Target flats, $6.97 and hurt my feet so bad I walked around church in bare feet the entire time.  I'm not sure why, as I've worn these shoes many times before.

Less squinting in the house, definitely.

Did you all have a nice Mother's Day?  I remember last year being very sad because my kids didn't get me a card or even acknowledge Mother's Day, which broke my heart.  Well, I didn't get a card again, but Missy bought me a rose with her own money (my first gift which was not bought from money borrowed from a grandparent or their daddy!) and the boys remembered to at least say "Happy Mother's Day."  Plus, both boys are doing an extra chore today, and Missy offered to do all the dishes and make dinner tonight.  And...and...and....my mom MADE me this lovely necklace and earring set!

This set encompasses three of my favorite things; the color red, roses (my middle name is Rose) and frogs!  I think frogs are adorable and I have frog Christmas tree decorations and had a collection of frog tee shirts and socks throughout high school and college.  I may still own some of the socks!  How sweet of my mom to make such a lovely, personal set of jewelry.  I will treasure it always.
And the best gift of all?  My mom came to church with me today.  It had been years since she'd been to church; probably ten or more.  Just having her there with me meant so much to me.  I love her so much!

Well, thank you again, RJ! I like my eyes quite a bit. They are a very pretty shade of what I call "gunmetal blue." I've actually been considering getting Lasix because they've been getting weaker as I get older. I'm not a fan of hiding behind my glasses, plus they make me sweat in this heat. I don't like contacts, either. However, Lasix is a couple thousand dollars! I'm not sure if I'll ever do it, but it's nice to think about it!
