E-Mails Make Me Happy

I had a super long day yesterday.  I had an eye doctor appointment and had my eyes dilated.  That's when they widen up your pupils to let more light in.  Ummm, that hurts.  They put these crazy drops in your eyes and then the entire world is brighter and intense.  But at least they can look back there and tell me there are no signs of diabetic retinopathy at this time...big hooray for me!  My right eye improved, my left eye got worse, and I ordered a new pair of glasses, and a new pair of sunglasses.  Will probably go back and order a second pair of eyeglasses, too.

I took lunch today and sat back down with a blueberry smoothie when I was done talking to Mr. R.  And I saw it...the e-mail I had been waiting on since last week!  The coding department contacted me for my internship!  They're not agreeing to it yet; they want to review the documents before the can agree, which I do understand.  I forwarded the attachments from Herzing and all I can do now is wait and see if they can find space for me.  I am praying, praying, praying that they will.  You see, I *could* do the internship in the department I'm in now.  But I thought to myself, let me try another department and see what else is out there.  After all, I have to use my pdo to work for free, I might as well try something new and meet new people!  I so hope this works out.  I graduate in April and would love to start my summer with a new job and my husband at home where he belongs!

I keep putting off learning to do medical stuff. I'll be curious to see how you like coding. Some days it sounds interesting to me; other days it sounds harder than it's worth working towards. What do you think? Do you like it so far?

Honestly, I pretty much like coding a lot. I love it when someone emails me because they have no idea what a code is, and I can find it really quick. It makes me feel smart. And then I just saved em a ton of money, and I like that too. I like looking at forms and finding mistakes, fixing them and feeling like a hero. I like finding stupid errors and fixing them (like ordering a chest xray for when someone comes in with a sprained toe...uhhh, that's gonna get denied.) I like how it's detailed, and organized, and interesting medically. I like to see the same patients coming in over and over and them getting better. And then I'm sad when a patient I've worked on passes away. I love learning new things about the human body, and happy when I can work on a claim and everyone gets paid properly; the insurance, the hospital, the doctor, and the patient. It just suits me!
