I'm Alive

Sorry to disappear on you fine folks, but I'm on vacation this week and having FUN. No work, very little school (hopefully my grades won't reflect that) lots of swimming, playing, cleaning, eating, and catching up with Mr. R in the romantic department. (cough cough.)
Monday the 6th was a hard day. It was the day that we were supposed to do the reversal. I got a little sad eyed thinking about it. Then I went back to my doctor and got even more sad eyed. I am offically diabetic. Unreal. All four of my grandparents and my biological father are diabetics, so it wasn't a shock. But I wasn't expecting it so soon. I'm not quite sure how this is going to work in my life yet. I'm already a terrible cook and I didn't even felt like I ate a ton of sugar. I am more of a chips and salsa girl than a cake girl. I obviously have to stop drinking Pepsi which I luuuuurve and will never have again (sobbbbb) but other than that I am clueless. I am considering setting up an appointment with a nutritionist at FH, as my company has a diabetes center.

So instead of Mr. R going in and having his surgery, I got the news that I'm a diabetic instead. What a weird little twist in life.

:::hugs:::

Sarah, that is so rough on so many levels. I can relate to the not having reversal surgery. I desperately wanted that. It took me a long time to move past not having it. Will Mr. R. be having surgery at a later date?

I think once you get used to the new eating plan, you will do great. Seeing a nutritionist sounds like a great idea!

Have fun on the rest of your vacation. So glad your honey is there with you!!

We don't know if Mr. R will be having the surgery. With my health in limbo these days (diabetes, high blood pressure, and I'm constantly sick for some reason) he is not exactly jumping up to get the cut, if you know what I mean. Just on my medical history now, I'd be high risk due to my diabetes, hbp, plus my age (I'm almost 34.) I trust in God and am waiting on Him to tell me to let it go, but so far, that has not happened. But I'm not being a nag to Mr. R, either. I'm just having a good time with the family He's already blessed me with.

Hang in there girl. You'll do fine with your new diagnosis. FH does have a great diabetes center.
They will teach you everything you need to know. Everyone should eat the diabetic meal plan. You might even learn to love DIET Pepsi! I do!
